HomeValue.us.org is starting an initiative to include ongoing trends in real estate prices in the members' area of their website, the company announced yesterday.
“When people buy our reports, they are getting a static image of what a single property is worth,” a HomeValue.us.org spokesman said. “What we want to be able to provide them with a general overview of where prices have been in different areas, and where they seem to be going. We think that will give them a better picture of the true value of the homes they are researching.”
HomeValue.us.org will be including the trending data in a section of the site accessible to customers who have purchased a report and created a personal login.
“This way, the information becomes available to people who are really looking to get into the market at some point in the near future,” he said. “If they track the trends in housing prices, they will have a sense of whether or not this is the time for them to get into the market.”
The trending data will be taken from the information available in HomeValue.us.org's database, he said.
“By looking at how the numbers change when we perform database updates, we can get a decent picture of which way the market is trending in different areas,” he said. “We think that will be helpful to people.”
