Direct Energy to Host SIG Regional Roundtable in Houston on May 13, 2015
Houston, Tx. (PRWEB) May 11, 2015 -- SIG, the premier membership organization for sourcing, procurement and outsourcing executives, today announces a one-day thought leadership forum taking place on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Houston, Texas.
SIG’s Regional Roundtable in Houston is being hosted in the Direct Energy offices and will include a presentation on how to strengthen the connection between the Procurement and Accounts Payable departments, by Mindy Holden, Direct Energy CPO and VP of Real Estate and Accounts Payable, Pilar Tirado, Director Accounts Payable and Tony Pugh, Director of Category Management. The day’s agenda also includes a buy-side peer-to-peer discussion, networking lunch and presentations on vendor risk management by Karen Coker, Director of Corporate Procurement, Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation and driving value through collaboration and business networks by Michael Koch, Director of Ariba Solutions Marketing.
“Our regional event program brings buy-side executives in local communities together for the sharing of best practices in an intimate and collegial environment,” says SIG CEO and President, Dawn Tiura. “We often see our members continuing these dialogues and relationships established long after the event has concluded.”
“People often feel like they have to connect with someone in their own industry to apply best practices,” adds Stephani McGarry, SIG Vice President, Global Events. “But we’ve found that sometimes when you broaden your mind to learning from someone outside your industry, you are more likely to have an ‘Aha!’ moment.”
SIG Regional Roundtables bring together executives from Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies to network and discuss issues and best practices in sourcing, procurement, outsourcing, offshoring, and nearshoring. Over the course of these one-day events, senior buy-side executives from different industries share successes and failures, engage in open dialogues and address challenges faced by sourcing and outsourcing executives.
