A theme that shows up a lot is freedom from tyranny, freedom to live your life,” Jones says. “This is something we can see that is still a modern day problem in parts of the world.

In the fictional world of Edafos, on the continent of Cardia, peace has been established after 300 years of war. As corrupt kings and religious struggles threaten the newfound peace, a boy forges his way across the land, attempting to change the fate of his homeland in the new fantasy book “Edafos: Divine Wind” (published by AuthorHouse), by Howard Jones. The book will be featured at the 2015 Frankfurt Book Fair from October 14-18.
Protagonist Jorigsveer Great-Blade is not important because he is powerful or has the best ideas, but because he is someone that brings people together for a common cause. When he is forced out of his home, he goes on a journey, picking up companions along the way as he challenges corrupt kings, twisted cults and even god-like beings.
“A theme that shows up a lot is freedom from tyranny, freedom to live your life,” Jones says. “This is something we can see that is still a modern day problem in parts of the world.”
The world created in Jones’ new book exemplifies the concept that anyone can be a hero. Psuedo-realistic combat may inspire normal people when they see characters surviving their struggles and Jones hopes to inspire anyone suffering from oppression, whether figurative or literal, to secure their freedom or simply do good deeds for others.
