WorldWatch Plus® Global Sanctions EU Instance Created to Help Clients Comply with Directives
Kennesaw, GA (PRWEB) March 28, 2017 -- International Screening Solutions has established a European Union (EU) instance of its industry-leading global sanctions, PEP and adverse media product, WorldWatch Plus, so that EU clients can conduct individual and entity screening and due diligence without personal data transfer outside the EU.
ISS, the trusted leader in global sanctions software and screening, also has been certified for the transfer of personal data from the European Union (EU) to the United States (U.S.) under the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield.
“Creating an EU instance for WorldWatch Plus follows a tradition of market-driven enhancements to our global sanctions data tool,” said Ken Kunsman, ISS chief marketing officer. “Our growing EU clients had confidence in our Privacy Shield certification, and now they have an even stronger compliance solution with our EU instance of WorldWatch Plus.”
Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995 established that, “Member States shall neither restrict nor prohibit the free flow of personal data between Member States.” The Directive will be replaced by a more permanent General Data Protection Regulation, effective May 2018 that retains the same EU Member State data transfer allowance. EU-based clients can confidently utilize the EU-based WorldWatch Plus instance for European Union citizens, knowing personal data is only retained within a Member State. The EU instance of WorldWatch Plus supports both a portal SaaS application and an API being used by EU-based clients to integrate with their own platforms.
WorldWatch Plus searches global sanctions, watch list, and blacklist data from government lists around the globe. The data is completely refreshed daily from 1,600 global sanction sources and 1,100 PEP sources, with an adverse media archive of 6 million articles. These data products are integral to KYC and AML screening and monitoring programs.
“Our commitment to continuous improvement and helping customers meet their compliance requirements with global regulations differentiates International Screening Solutions and WorldWatch Plus from legacy database services and providers,” said ISS CEO Chuck Papageorgiou. “It was an easy decision to make this investment on behalf of supporting our growing EU client base.”
Founded in 2007, International Screening Solutions serves pre-employment and due diligence organizations around the globe. WorldWatch Plus® was launched in 2015 to search global sanctions, watch list, PEP and media data from thousands of sources for anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) programs. WorldWatch Plus has been used to conduct millions of public information source searches and includes a search monitoring feature to facilitate recurring searches, set at daily to quarterly intervals.
