“The Adventures of Monty and Keaz: One Small Step” (published by AuthorHouse UK) by Ian Reardon depicts the amazing outer space explorations of two audacious mice.
Reardon hopes to not only educate readers on astronomy – one of the fastest growing interests in the U.K. – but also provide a humorous and entertaining read.
Professor Keaz, an inventor, and Monterey Jack, an engineer – better known as Monty – are mice who live on a dairy farm in the Cornish countryside. The two decide to team up to build a spaceship and go to outer space; their first stop: the moon.
Keaz and Monty name the spaceship Beagle and it is from Beagle’s computer that Keaz, Monty and readers learn the most about space exploration and astronomy.
An excerpt from “The Adventures of Monty and Keaz”:
“‘It looks sort of like a car, certainly,’ replied Professor Keaz, ‘but how did a car get up here onto the moon?’
‘That is one of the three moon buggies,’ said the computer. ‘They were left behind by astronauts when they went back to Earth.’”
