REMI’s Local Spotlight Features Internet-Bound Realtors
Miami, FL (PRWEB) July 17, 2013 -- The Real Estate Marketing Insider released a new edition of its “Local Spotlight” feature, a weekly profile of a realtor or real estate agent making a splash in a non-major market. This week the Insider profiled Troy and Jennifer Funk, a husband-and-wife team of realtors based in Sarasota, Florida, who have recently turned their attention to an online practice that they hope will replace their previous (brick and mortar) office.
As the Miami Herald-Tribune reported on July 15, Mr. and Mrs. Funk were formerly employed by Re/Max Platinum Realty, but have recently decided to convert their office to a branch of Allison James Estates & Homes. Allison James is an internet-based realty firm which works exclusively with online sales of properties. The agents pay a monthly fee to list with the service, but keep 100 percent of their commissions; traditional firms split commissions between the agent and the broker. Working online offers the added bonus of eliminating overheads like advertising materials, real estate postcards, and other paper expenses. The Funks were originally hesitant to make the jump to online sales exclusively, but they’ve since come around and are looking to hire as many as one hundred new real estate agents to work with the new business model.
The Real Estate Marketing Insider congratulates Mr. and Mrs. Funk on their choice to move their practice online, and advises other agents to consider the same. Moving online may not be the best choice for every realtor, and those well-situated with reputable practices in active markets might want to retain their “physical” business. However, there are strong benefits to online practices that make them worth considering for every realtor, especially those looking to pocket more money from their sales.
The Real Estate Marketing Insider announced the release of its weekly “Local Spotlight” feature. This week’s profile featured Troy and Jennifer Funk, who have decided to reengineer their Sarasota, Fla., practice into an online-only business.
