Urine Flow Inhibitor Invented for Catheter Patients - Designed by InventHelp Client (DLL-2943)
PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) November 17, 2015 -- Because of the probability that some men will develop prostrate problems as they age, it stands to reason that a number of those problems will be serious enough to require placement of a catheter. After that probability became a reality for an inventor from Dallas, Texas, he decided to provide help for people in this situation.
He developed CATHETER CLAMP to stop the flow of urine through the tubing and into the urine storage bag for someone using a catheter. As such, it allows the user with a catheter to urinate in a urinal or a toilet. This ability enhances the user’s self-esteem and promotes a sense of normalcy. This patented design is particularly beneficial when using a public restroom or in private with a significant other. Furthermore, it is convenient, user friendly, effective and reasonably priced. Also, its simple design minimizes production costs. In addition, it is durable for years of effective use.
Besides prostate problems, catheters can be used following surgery on the pelvis or urinary tract as well as for bladder cancer patients. If the situation evolves into long-term dependence on a catheter, patients may become disillusioned and depressed. This invention gives them a chance for optimism and a positive experience. The patent illustrates different views of the clamp in the open and closed positions.
The inventor’s personal experience with a medical condition resulting in the use of a catheter inspired the idea. “To avoid becoming discouraged, I decided to enable anyone in my situation to bypass the catheter and urinate normally in a urinal or toilet,” he said.
