One of America's largest invention firms, InventHelp is working to submit the CHEERS CAM to companies for their review.

Selfies are all the rage, but there are some key problems and even a danger associated with taking them. "I first thought of this invention when I heard what happened to one of my friends while out with her friends one night," said an inventor from New Rochelle, N.Y.

"She was celebrating at a crowded bar in NYC and wanted to take a selfie with the birthday girl. My friend put her drink down in order to take her camera out, and then posed for the camera. In the few seconds she left her drink unattended to take the selfie, someone had put something in her drink, causing her to lose consciousness, and she had to be rushed to the hospital. Thankfully, she got the help she needed, but I knew there had to be a better and safer way of taking pictures without putting down your drink, and the Cheers Cam was born."

He created a prototype for the patent-pending CHEERS CAM, a device that provides a convenient way to take “selfies." It is lighter and smaller than a selfie stick, which has been banned from some places for being used as a weapon at sporting events and concerts. It also can get footage that a cameraman would never be able to get, giving the observing audience a viewpoint they have never experienced before. Most important, it helps prevent spiking of drinks due to distraction.

The CHEERS CAM is great for video-chat users and can be used during live concerts while attached to the musicians’ instruments or the singer’s microphone, during televised sporting events, or by hunters using guns and/or archery equipment.

The original design was submitted to the Manhattan office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
