InventHelp Inventors Design Modified Wheel Lock (WDH-1015)
PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) October 19, 2016 -- This invention was inspired by the need to prevent recurring theft of the car wheels and tires of one of the co-inventors, who lives in a high-rise apartment complex and drives a luxury car that has high-end wheels and tires. He had conventional wheel locks on all the wheels and a security alarm installed. Over the course of two years, the wheels and tires were stolen twice. Moreover, he had experienced the same type of theft years earlier while living in another location.
As a result of inquiries about the most recent theft, it was discovered that multiple vehicles had been impacted and the thefts were recurring. The financial consequences of the thefts were substantial, and the sense of vulnerability was overwhelming.
The patent-pending ENHANCED WHEEL LOCK evolved as the inventors analyzed the technique the thieves were using to remove the conventional wheel locks and developed features to thwart that process. Their invention eventually solved the theft problem.
Affordable and easy to install, the invention provides greater protection than a standard wheel lock and key design. It also eliminates the space around the lock, making it impossible for a criminal to fit a socket into a position to grip it for the removal of wheels and tires. As a result, it provides peace of mind and avoids costs to replace stolen equipment.
The original design was submitted to the Washington, D.C. office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
