Pittsburgh-based InventHelp attempts to submit an invention, JC Canopy, to companies for review.

"Over the course of years, having been a home health field nurse, I have observed many people riding power chairs or scooters in hot, sunny weather with nothing to shield them from the sun," said an inventor from Heartland, Texas. "I came up with this accessory to keep them protected."

She developed the JC Canopy to shield the user from inclement weather. The accessory ensures that the user remains dry and comfortable. It also protects the user from the harmful rays of the sun. This keeps the user cool on hot, sunny days. The unit lessens the risk of getting a sunburn too. Additionally, the invention fosters independence.

The original design was submitted to the Dallas office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
