"When I was building a geodesic dome, it dawned on me that the hardest part was making node retainers of appropriate design to implement the structure," said an inventor from Plantation, Fla. "This invention idea was the result of my pursuit of easy-to-use node retainers."
He developed the NODE RETAINERS to facilitate the construction of dimensional lumber-based (or equally dimensional metallic-based) geodesic structures. The device allows struts to be connected in a more efficient manner. This saves time and effort during construction. The invention eliminates the hassle of having to make node retainers of the appropriate size and design. The accessory ensures that geodesic domes can be built cheaply. Furthermore, the invention is designed for ease of use. It is usable as 2D plates or as a 3-dimensional unit.
The original design was submitted to the Hollywood office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
