While there are hair protectors that can be worn during the night to prevent damage to hair, they have several shortcomings. Conventional caps and scarves made for this purpose are not only difficult to keep on, they are somewhat uncomfortable. That’s exactly what an inventor from Cedar Hill, Texas, was concerned about when she conceived of a better alternative.
She developed a prototype for the patent-pending PILLOW FIT/ HAIR PAD to protect hair and preserve hair styles while the user is asleep. As such, it offers a more secure fit than other pillow cases to keep the pillow from slipping out of the case. Thus, it helps hair to retain oil and moisture thereby avoiding splitting and breaking. At the same time, it eliminates the need to wear a satin or silk cap or scarf as an overnight hair protector. As a result, it contributes to a better night’s sleep. Furthermore, it is convenient, effective and affordably priced. It is also lightweight, portable and easy to pack and transport. In addition, it is comfortable, washable and user friendly.
The inventor’s personal experience inspired the idea. “I was tired of worrying about my hair breaking from sleeping on regular pillow cases,” she said. “I wanted a better way to protect my hair than having to wear a satin cap or scarf, especially since they were difficult to keep on during the night.”
