Inventor and InventHelp Client Designs RIDE ASSIST (SDB-916)

InventHelp, a leading invention submission firm, is submitting the RIDE ASSIST to companies for their consideration.

An inventor, from Oceanside, Calif., thought there needed to be a strain-free way for parents to assist children learning to ride a bike, so he invented the RIDE ASSIST.

The RIDE ASSIST is designed to be detached from the bicycle completely once the child is riding on his or her own. It detaches easily so that there is no pendulum effect that could cause the child to lose control and fall. The device is quick to reconnect to the bicycle when needed again. The accessory provides an effective way for an adult to push, guide or stop a child's bicycle. It eliminates the need to bend or strain. The invention offers greater control, which enhances comfort and safety. The device is convenient and easy to use, and it features a durable design. Furthermore, the item is ideal for parents with children ages 6 and younger.

The inventor's personal experience inspired the idea. "After a few attempts to teach my 3-year-old daughter how to ride a bike using the traditional method - holding the back of her seat - I began to experience some back pain," he said. "I knew that there must be an easier way, so I invented 'Ride Assist.' After using 'Ride Assist' a few times, my daughter quickly learned to ride, and I enjoyed the father/daughter bonding time like it should be, without being in pain."

The original design was submitted to the San Diego office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
