Improved Nephrostomy Bag Holder Invented by InventHelp Client (CBA-3023)
PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) December 17, 2016 -- Patients with nephrostomy tubes who use drainage bags face the challenge of keeping the bags in place discreetly. Standard practice calls for fastening them to the leg with tight elastic straps. Fortunately, an inventor from Greer, S.C., has designed a much more comfortable option.
He developed a prototype for the patent-pending SCOTT & TAYLOR HOLSTER to provide a more comfortable and easier way to wear a nephrostomy bag. As such, it fits securely yet inconspicuously under clothing and does not restrict circulation. Besides that, it allows the user to drain the bag without removing the holster. Thus, it improves the quality of life for nephrostomy patients. Besides being easy to apply, use and remove, it is also safe, sanitary and lightweight. Additional benefits are convenience, effectiveness and affordable cost.
The inventor’s personal experience with a family member inspired the idea. “My wife has had nephrostomy tubes placed in both kidneys and uses drainage bags. When the bags were first installed, they were held to her legs by tight elastic straps to prevent them from sliding down the leg,” he said. “Since these straps were so uncomfortable, I wanted to find a better alternative.”
