Any driver knows that the flashing light of a police car in the rear view mirror probably means a traffic citation. Often the reason for the stop is a burned out light bulb, something the driver wasn’t even aware of. Fortunately, an inventor from Philadelphia, Pa., has discovered a way to let drivers know immediately when one of the car lights goes out.

He developed SENSOR LIGHT specifically to alert a driver as soon as an external vehicle light needs to be replaced. In other words, it monitors the functioning of the car’s front and rear lights and turn signal flashers. As a result, it improves highway safety by helping to prevent collisions caused by insufficient lighting or non-functioning turn signals. Therefore, it has the potential to reduce the risk of expensive citations for motor vehicle code violations. At the same time, it decreases the number of insurance claims for vehicular and property damage. It also helps prevent motor vehicle accident-related injuries and fatalities. In addition, it operates automatically.

The inventor’s personal observation inspired the idea. “In most instances, drivers are unaware that a front or rear light or turn signal flasher on their vehicle has burned out until they are stopped by the police,” he said. “I wanted to give drivers immediate notice of this need to replace a dead light bulb."
