Pittsburgh-based InventHelp attempts to submit an invention, Shower Extended Reach, to companies for review.

"I have a hard time scrubbing myself clean in the shower, and I do not want to have to ask someone to scrub my back for me all the time," said an inventor from Phenix City, Ala. "As a solution, I came up with this idea. Now I can cleanse my whole body effectively all on my own."

She developed the Shower Extended Reach to provide an efficient way to scrub and clean hard-to-reach areas of the body. It relieves dry skin and itching, particularly on the back area. Also, the unit keeps skin moisturized and healthy. The design saves the individual from having to ask for help with washing hard-to-reach areas. The device reduces the need to stretch and strain in order to cleanse oneself. Furthermore, it makes the user more independent.

The original design was submitted to the Birmingham office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
