Speed Monitoring System for Automobiles Invented by InventHelp Client (HLW-1614)

InventHelp, based in Pittsburgh, is submitting this idea, the SPEED ALERT, to companies for their review and possible feedback.

All too often injuries and the loss of lives from speed-related crashes are the focus of the top stories in the local news. Luckily, an inventor from Southwest Ranches has conceived of an idea that can considerably reduce the incidence of this type of tragedy.

She developed the patent-pending SPEED ALERT to monitor the speed at which a motor vehicle is traveling. It has the capability to synchronize the motor vehicle speed with the posted speed limit. Once installed, it signals the driver if the car exceeds the programmed or set speed limit. As a result, it reduces the number of speeding tickets issued. At the same time, it eliminates the costly fines associated with speeding violations. In other words, it improves highway safety by decreasing the risk of speed-related automobile accidents. It, therefore, has the potential to save lives and prevent injuries and property damage. It also reduces the chances of penalty points or suspension of driver’s license for speeding. In addition, it is convenient, easy to install and use and reasonably priced.

The inventor’s personal experience inspired the idea. “My daughter received two speeding tickets at the same location within 45 days,” she said. “So I wanted to find a way to give her and other drivers an immediate warning when they began traveling above the posted speed limit as a reminder to take their foot off the accelerator.”

The original design was submitted to the Hollywood/Miami office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
