"I was in the attic watching an A/C tech service my attic unit and noticed that a strong draft was created with the garage door open," said an inventor from Plano, Texas. "A strong, natural 'stack effect' was created. That gave me the idea for this modified attic ladder."
He developed THE STACK LADDER to provide passive cooling even in the closed position and create additional directional airflow into the attic when the garage door is opened. The unit cools both the garage and the attic without the use of electrical or mechanical parts. It allows fresh air to circulate freely, which is especially beneficial during the hot summer months. The design utilizes non-slip edging to prevent falls. Additionally, the ladder is made from superior materials, can be built with recycled materials (green technology), has multiple color options, won't warp or sag over time (not susceptible to warm/moist environments), and is stronger and lighter than conventional ladders. The inventor points out that it can open new markets for manufacturers that are interested in the home-building industry.
