Pittsburgh-based InventHelp is submitting this idea, THE UMBRELLA PEN, to companies for their review and potential feedback.

"Many people forego taking along an umbrella because they are annoying and unwieldy to carry," said an inventor from Hampton, Va. "As a solution, I designed a much more portable umbrella that also has an additional writing instrument."

He developed the patent-pending THE UMBRELLA PEN to ensure that an umbrella and pen are readily available for use. The design eliminates the need to carry around a full-size umbrella, which ends hassles and frustrations. The unit features a space-saving design that fits inside a pocket. It is designed for ease of use. In addition, the accessory is producible in a variety of colors and designs.

The original design was submitted to the Virginia Beach office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
