Safety Device for Trailer Rear-End Crashes Invented - Designed by InventHelp Client (TPA-2008)
PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) September 25, 2014 -- All too often we hear traffic reports of death and destruction on the highway. Now however, an inventor from Port Charlotte, Fla., has found a way to make the roadways safer.
He developed a prototype for the patent-pending Safety Underguard specifically to prevent a motor vehicle from being crushed beneath the back of the semi vehicle on impact. It, therefore, eliminates the need to pick up the trailer to remove a car from underneath. As such, it improves safety for truck drivers who pull large commercial trailers and for motorists traveling behind them.
Not only does it save lives and reduce property damage from motor vehicle accidents, it also reduces trailer repairs by absorbing the impact from the collision. What's more, it is easy to install, strong and cost effective for trucking companies. In addition, its simple design and inexpensive materials minimize production costs.
The inventor was inspired to create this because he was tired of repairing or replacing ICC bars while working for a trucking company and maintaining a fleet. "I realized the better way to go was to redesign the bar to withstand the force of a collision without bending," he said.
The original design was submitted to the Tampa office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
