InventHelp, based in Pittsburgh and founded in 1984, is submitting the V KEEPER HOOK to companies for their review.

"I wanted to help protect and preserve fisheries, and I thought that a great way to do this would be to minimize harm to fish," said an inventor from Deerfield Beach, Fla. "This redesigned fish hook will not cause any harm to fish when they bite, meaning that they can be released easily."

He developed the patent-pending V KEEPER HOOK, which does not feature a conventional barb. The accessory will not harm the fish when it strikes the line. It allows the fish to be caught and released quickly and easily. The design ensures that the fish can go on to live a normal life. It also saves the angler from having to struggle to remove the hook. Furthermore, the invention helps to preserve and protect the stocks of fisheries.

The original design was submitted to the Ft. Lauderdale office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
