Pittsburgh-based InventHelp attempts to submit an invention, Music Desk Drape, to companies for review.

Piano owners take pride in the appearance of their well-crafted, shiny instruments, but a marred piano stand can ruin that pride. "I needed a way to protect my piano stand from scratches without detracting from the piano’s appearance," said an inventor from Macomb, Mich., "so I ended up developing a cover that solves this problem."

The Music Desk Drape provides scratch protection for a piano stand in order to avoid unsightly and expensive damage. It also enhances the overall look of the piano and promotes upscale quality. The cover is easy to install, remove and clean, and it's customizable to different piano stands.

The original design was submitted to the Detroit office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
