"When you only have a few items in your truck bed, they tend to slide around, which can damage both the cargo and the bed itself," said an inventor from Greenville, S.C. "To keep cargo from shifting, I came up with this solution."

He created a prototype for the JTC CONTAINMENT SYSTEM to secure cargo in the truck bed or other vehicle (van, cargo truck, semi, etc.). The device prevents cargo from coming loose during travel so that items do not move around in the truck bed. The invention provides safety and added peace of mind when hauling cargo. The invention also can be used as a divider for the bed. It may lower insurance premiums as well. In addition, it is adaptable for use with other vehicles. The design can incorporate the logos of various sports teams, manufacturers' brand names or other designs.

"An insurance agent that I used to have said that the JTC CONTAINMENT SYSTEM could have prevented a client's claim," continued the inventor. "His client had a refrigerator in the back of his pickup truck, and when he hit a bump, the fridge fell out, bounced up, hit a car going the opposite way and killed the occupants. If the fridge were secured with my system, it never would have come loose, and those people would have still been alive."

The original design was submitted to the Columbia office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
