Patently Brilliant’s “That Was My Invention Idea!” Contest to Launch Their New Facebook Page
Canonsburg, PA (PRWEB) November 13, 2013 -- Patently Brilliant is launching their new Facebook page with a contest geared for hopeful inventors. The contest is called “That was My Invention Idea!” and inventors are encouraged to upload their stories about their dashed dreams directly to Patently Brilliant’s Facebook page.
The contest expires on Cyber Monday, December 2 on their newly launched Facebook page. After December 2, the top 10 vote getters will go to the finals where the ultimate winners will be decided on December 16. Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite stories and Patently Brilliant will award the top 3 vote getters.
First Place Prize will be an iPad mini, Second Place is a $50 Home Depot gift card and Third Place is a $25 Home Depot gift card. The top 3 finishers will also be eligible for free invention related services for their invention idea, up to $1000 in value, from either Patently Brilliant or their exclusive invention marketing website ForSaleByInventor.com.
“As a kid, I had an invention idea for cashew butter that I thought would do better than Peanut Butter only to get that as a Christmas present when I was 9 years old.” recalls Neil Montgomery, VP of Sales & Marketing for Patently Brilliant. “I think everybody has had this happen at one point. The point of the contest is that it takes more than just an idea… it requires action as well.”
The contest re-enforces the new America Invents Act that was put into effect in March of this year that only grants patents to inventors who file for their patent first. America had been unique from the rest of the world prior to March when the country was “first to invent” rather than “first to file.” The law does present challenges particularly to individual inventors with little knowledge and resources as compared with large organizations.
“You see advertisements every day saying that you can patent an idea yourself in minutes for very little money,” explains Bob Montgomery, founder of Patently Brilliant. “This is rarely good advice unless an inventor is aware of all of the nuances of patent law. We see inventors every day that have lost their rights to their invention because the patent was not filed and marketed correctly and we want to help inventors avoid this costly mistake.”
Anyone interested in participating in this contest should visit Patently Brilliant’s Facebook page for details.
