Offered by Fred.Olsen Cruise Lines, a UK cruise line which began in Norway in 1848 and now operates from its headquarters in Suffolk, this newest innovative form of cruising is for now, a one-time offer and available on the line’s ship named the Braemar. A 15-night journey, the cruise, ‘You Choose Your Cruise’, will be departing from Southampton in October of 2015 and will be the first of its kind. The cruise will be traveling to the Mediterranean but aside from that, the guests of this exciting journey will help decide where to go next. The moment the ship leaves, it will already be partly under control of the lucky passengers who will decide which way to head, towards Spain or Leixoes, Portugal. From then on, every 48 hours, the guests will be asked to vote where to go next. Along the way, cruisers will choose between destinations including Malaga or Gibraltar, Palamos or Barcelona as well as Galician city of Ferrol in Spain or La Coruna.
For many cruisers, this is a dream come true, the opportunity to have an adventure and to choose their destination as they explore the Mediterranean. This cruise is an opportunity to be, at least in part, the captain of a ship exploring new and exciting destinations along the way. This may be the first of it's kind, but it may not be the last. One thing is certain, it is unique.
