Janet K. Warren Kicks Off Four-Book Children’s Series
Cobourg, Ontario (PRWEB) May 06, 2014 -- Author Janet K. Warren brings biblical animals to life in her colorful new children’s book, “Animals of the Old Testament” (published by AuthorHouse).
Warren taught Sunday school to 4-and 5-year-olds for seven years, when her own children were small. She learned that children love to be read to and that they especially love stories about animals. This knowledge became the basis for “Animals of the Old Testament” and its companion book, “Animals of the New Testament.”
Featuring six stories from the Old Testament, the book features a variety of animals including a dove, lion, donkey, dog and more. Stories are told from the animals’ point of view, setting it apart from other children’s picture books.
An excerpt from “Animals of the Old Testament”:
“A very long time ago, in fact it was well over 2,000 years ago; there lived a lovely little white dove named Miriam. Miriam lived in the beautiful olive tree behind the home of Noah and his wife Emzara. Every day Noah or Emzara would set out seeds to feed Miriam and often, they would chat with Miriam. They spoke of how disappointed they were with everyone they met. Everyone was so very wicked and did not pray to God every day, like they did.”
