Industry Analyst Jeff Kagan on Aio Wireless Prepaid Going National in September
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) August 30, 2013 -- Aio Wireless will roll out nationwide in September, according to the trade FierceWireless.com, Aug 30. Aio Wireless is a brand new competitor in the pre-paid wireless space. It it owned by AT&T.
Wireless analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.
“Apparantly the initial rollout of the pre-paid Aio Wireless service has been a success so far. They are rolling out this service nationwide in the next few weeks,” says Tech analyst Jeff Kagan.
“Aio Wireless offers AT&T a new brand in the growing prepaid, no-contract space. As long as the service is excellent, prices are low and device choices are great, there is no reason this service can’t thrive,” says Principal analyst Jeff Kagan.
Aio Wireless is a different and separate brand in the wireless space from other AT&T brands like AT&T Mobility and GoPhone.
“Aio Wireless is also positioned to be very competitive with T-Mobile USA who is going through a transformation themselves. T-Mobile also offers various prepaid brands like their no-contract Simple Choice, Metro and GoSmart Mobile,” says Kagan.
“This transformation of the prepaid marketplace is suddenly starting to get very interesting. Large companies own many smaller brands, which can succeed in segments of the market. Pre-paid is getting to be a sector that should be followed,” says Kagan.
Sprint is also in the prepaid sector with their Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile brands. Tracfone is another major player in the prepaid MVNO space.
