Industry Analyst Jeff Kagan Offers Microsoft Recommendation
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 21, 2013 -- Microsoft is struggling, trying to recapture growth with Windows 8 and Surface tablets, according to USA Today, July 19.
Tech analyst Jeff Kagan offers recommendation to Microsoft.
“Something is wrong at Microsoft. It is an important company and an industry leader, but they can't seem to recapture growth. The recent move to totally reinvent their Windows platform with Windows 8 and their Surface tablet business is a great example.” Says Principal analyst Jeff Kagan.
“Microsoft does some things right and other things wrong. Their market approach today is the same as it has been for decades. Microsoft should be just as concerned with hanging on to customers, as they are with innovation.” Says Kagan.
“Can Microsoft save Windows 8? Let me be clear. Innovation is key. That’s the secret sauce. However it's more than just innovation. It's taking care of customers. And that's where Microsoft is failing.” Says Kagan.
“Microsoft needs to focus on keeping customers happy and innovating. Since Windows 8 is a total re-write, and since many customers prefer Windows 7, my recommendation is they keep both. Let the user choose the operating system they want. Don’t force a round customer into a square hole.” Says Kagan.
“Without giving that choice to customers, Microsoft is stepping on the throat of their loyal customers. With competition growing I think Microsoft needs to take this new approach or they will pay a large price as their otherwise satisfied customers leave.” Warns Kagan.
