Wireless Analyst Jeff Kagan on Sprint iPhone Loyalty Service Credit
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 15, 2014 -- Sprint has launched a new loyalty program for it’s Apple iPhone users. This is aimed to reward their existing and long-term customers, according to Wireless Week, Oct 14. This plan will let existing Sprint customers acquire the new iPhone 6 for $5 per month.
Technology industry analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.
“Sprint is suddenly on a very aggressive track to both win new customers and hang onto existing customers by offering lower prices. This path offers low costs for popular devices like the new iPhone,” says Telecom analyst Kagan.
Sprint says after the monthly credit is applied to the customers account, it will be like paying $5 per month for an iPhone 6 or $10 per month for an iPhone 6 Plus. Sprint says this is a $360 savings over 24 months compared to new customers.
“This is Sprint rewarding their existing customers in addition to new customers. This should help Sprint hang onto their existing customers as they add new customers. This is the big challenge for Sprint. They need to win new customers and hang onto existing customers. This plan should help them do just that,” says Technology analyst Kagan.
“This should help Sprint increase their iPhone sales for both new and existing customers. It is very interesting to watch how Sprint is changing their business model going forward. They are focused on price and that should help them get a stronger footing in this segment,” says Tech analyst Kagan.
