Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) May 15, 2014 -- AT&T announced on May 15, the initial rollout of their HD Voice service, which is based on VoLTE technology.
Industry analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.
“This is the beginning of what so many have been anxiously waiting for. We are expecting all the majors to offer this service sooner or later. AT&T appears to be the first to market with this new service,” says Tech analyst Jeff Kagan.
“High-Definition voice will be very important going forward on all-IP, Voice Over LTE or a VoLTE network. It let’s customers talk and surf the web at high speeds at the same time over an Internet or IP network,” says Principal analyst Kagan.
This initial rollout will be in portions of a few markets including Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The service will begin on one device, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.
AT&T will continue to roll out HD Voice on a market-by-market basis.
