New Memoir by James Broman Takes Readers Through Moon Pools of Life
NORTH MYRTLE, S.C. (PRWEB) January 07, 2015 -- Readers follow deep-sea diver James Broman through his life’s biggest moon pools in his new memoir, “Moon Pool: The True Life Story of a Global Adventurer” (published by iUniverse). The title refers to the opening in a ship’s hull that allows access to the open water and acts as a safe haven for divers.
“Moon Pool” opens in Southern California with 17-year-old Broman, whose parent’s divorce has left him devastated and unsure of where to go in life. After getting involved with a gang, Broman decides it’s not the life for him and immediately enlists in the Air Force, which sends him all over the world.
Upon his return to the U.S., Broman began his dangerously thrilling career as a deep-sea diver. Following in his father’s footsteps, Broman became a highly-respected name in the industry and eventually retires to Australia. His memoir documents the many adventures he has exploring the Cape Tribulation Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef.
Broman’s memoir takes readers from the shores of Japan to the villas of Spain to the Great Barrier Reef. His relaxed, candid voice leads the narrative along as Broman shares his personal insights on living life to the fullest.
An excerpt from “Moon Pool”:
“Some of my moon pools have brought me to the face of death; others have shown me the true meaning of life. They’ve all been life-altering experiences, each in their own way: challenges, opportunities for growth or change or healing, incredible moments of varying duration that were nonetheless filled with deep and far-reaching significance.”
“You have to know how to access the inner core of yourself if you’re going to make it through life's extreme situations - if you’re going to not merely survive, but thrive and succeed,” writes Broman. “This book chronicles my adventures, my inward journey, and the place where they merged is the moon pool.”
