Forty years ago in 1975, the Vietnam War ended, gas was 44 cents a gallon, Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded a small start-up called Microsoft, the average cost of a new house was approximately $39,000 and Jim Thoeming started his career in real estate.
A lot has changed since then: Vietnam is now a tourist destination, a gallon of gas averages around $2.50, and Microsoft is the largest software company in the world. But one thing has remained constant, and that is Jim Thoeming is still making homeownership a reality for his clients in the Denver area.
“One thing that hasn’t changed in the past 40 years is that people need to buy and sell homes,” said Thoeming. “I feel privileged to have spent the past four decades helping people do that.”
Thoeming has spent the last 28 years at RE/MAX of Cherry Creek, as a prolific broker, and was recently awarded the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement award.
“In the past 40 years I have watched neighborhoods change, mature and grow, and use that real-world knowledge to keep my clients on the cusp of what’s truly happening now,” said Thoeming. “My goal is to forge a knowledge base about yesterday, today and most likely tomorrow, and make each client feel that everything possible was done to enhance their purchase or sale.”
