PrideStaff has released the results of its 2015 Job Search Methods Survey, designed to gauge job seeker behavior and job search trends across the U.S. Conducted in March, the online survey was completed by nearly 900 individuals, representing a wide range of ages and education levels.
Overall, the results show that most people are open to new job opportunities. Over 20 percent of respondents are employed but actively looking for another position, and nearly one-third are "passive job seekers" who are open to learning about new opportunities, even though they are currently employed. Among those who are actively searching for work, nearly half of respondents initiated their search to find better pay, culture and training, or to switch careers.
The survey also indicates that job search length and methods vary greatly. Among respondents currently looking for a new job, most have been searching for at least three months, and nearly 20 percent have been looking for more than a year. Seventy-three percent of job seekers use online job search methods to find opportunities, while roughly 70 percent partner with recruiters or employment agencies like PrideStaff to accelerate their job search.
