The story begins when a light aircraft crashes in stormy weather on a desert island. Castaways include Dr. Vague, Bob (the charter pilot and formerly a Hell’s Cheaters biker), Sue Tran (the Vietnamese caterer), Mr. Korda (mining executive) and his wife, a post-op transvestite nun and an Aboriginal lad.
It’s primitive as can be when the true reason for the plane crash is revealed. Survivors have to battle the elements and sinister human design – and all have the misfortune of having to engage with Dr. Vague when normal rules do not apply. Growing desperation and deadly conflict ensue.

About the Author
John C. Gleason is social anthropologist and a graduate of the University of Sydney and the London School of Economics. He worked on treaty negations between the Inuit and Canada in the 1980’s before trading snow for the beaches of Australia. A veteran of the international indigenous rights era and the negotiation of major mining operations on Aboriginal land, Gleason participated in the local cut and thrust of social change around the world. John is a private anthropological consultant working mainly in the mining areas of Western Australia. He lives with his family in Perth.
