John Hsieh’s new photo book brings readers to Manhattan
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (PRWEB) May 26, 2015 -- John Hsieh, a deaf artist whose work has been exhibited around the world, invites readers to see New York through his eyes in his new photo book, “The Great Style of New York” (published by Trafford Publishing).
Hsieh says he has loved the idea of Manhattan since he was a child. Finally, in the fall of 2014, he fulfilled his childhood dream and spent three months in Manhattan.
During his three month stay in the city, Hsieh took daily excursions to the streets, where he attempted to capture the essence of Manhattan through his camera. The subjects of his photos vary from food vendors to clothing stores to major landmarks of the city.
Hsieh’s book features hundreds of pictures, which he hopes will transport readers to Manhattan and make them feel as if they are actually there. He also hopes his photos have captured what makes Manhattan so unique, just as Manhattan captured his heart as a child.

About the Author
John Hsieh is a deaf self-taught artist. He always dreamed of being an artist, and after 27 years working for the United States Post Office, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a painter. His paintings are now included in private and corporate collections in the United States and China. They have been featured in the Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons and Saint Regis hotels as well as international private collections. He created a private collection of more than 80 paintings of his two cats, Liz and Dick, which he eventually turned into the book, “My Cat Liz.”
