Julio may inspire other readers with his philosophy to be kind to each other for life is short

Dorila A. Marting was inspired by a young victim of a natural disaster, who in spite of family loss, changes of fortune and suffering, finds true happiness by becoming a humanitarian. The story of “Julio” (published by Xlibris) reflects the story of that inspirational child.

Julio, a 10-year-old bright boy, is the only survivor of his family when the flood of the century killed about five thousand people on Saturday, December 7, 1941 at the northern part of Huaras, Ancash, Peru. After losing his closest relatives, his cousin, Esperanza, takes charge of him. Together they go to Lima, suffer hardships to earn their secondary diplomas in order to enter the United States of America as immigrants and become worthy, naturalized citizens.

A truly inspiring read for youngsters and adults alike, the story of Julio will let readers see how a young Peruvian turned his fortunes around and helped others who suffered like he did. Julio’s struggles and victories, over the challenges he faced, will lift the spirits of readers who may find life too difficult to deal with.

“Julio may inspire other readers with his philosophy to be kind to each other for life is short,” Marting on why she shared Julio’s story. “And that where there is hope, there is a way.”
