The Junkluggers, a junk-removal franchise based in New York City, is proud to announce a partnership with the International Franchise Association’s VetFran program. Under the partnership, The Junkluggers will offer a $5,000 discount off the initial franchise fee to honorably discharged veterans.

“We are excited to provide an incentive for men and women that serve our country to find the next chapter in their life with The Junkluggers,” said Josh Cohen, Founder and CEO of The Junkluggers. “We pride ourselves on helping veterans with our charitable work and we look forward to partnering with veterans who would like to open their own The Junkluggers franchise location.”

The Junkluggers has established a reputation for working with men and women who have served. Two veterans, Philip McIntire and Ronnie Esquivel, have found success since joining the company. McIntire works in the New York City office as the Office Manager and Lugger Extraordinaire and has been a member of the National Guard since April 2009. Esquivel is the Territory Manager of Westchester County and Connecticut and previously served as a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment, 3rd Battalion.

“The Junkluggers has been an incredible place to make the transition from the military to civilian life,” said Esquivel. “Josh is passionate about supporting those who served, and we are thrilled to share the opportunity with our fellow veterans looking for a great business opportunity.”

Furthermore, The Junkluggers has given back to veterans through partnerships with a variety of veteran support organizations and charitable donations as part of The Junkluggers Veterans Initiative spearheaded by McIntire. Through this program, The Junkluggers has teamed up with The Jericho Project in New York City, an organization that has been helping out the homeless population for two decades and specifically works with homeless veterans, putting them in supportive housing. The Junkluggers then provides furniture in order to furnish the veteran’s new apartment. The Junkluggers has also partnered with The Institute for Community Living, Services for the Underserved, Hope for the Warriors, NYESGR, and other veteran support organizations.

“We are constantly looking for more ways to support those who have served in the armed forces,” said McIntire. “I’m proud to be a part of a company that places such a high value on supporting the men and women who have served this country.”

About The Junkluggers
In 2004, after founder Josh Cohen returned to the U.S from studying abroad, he immediately hit the streets handing out homemade flyers all around town to promote his new business idea. After the phone began to ring, Cohen quickly realized there was a demand for a reliable, professional, and eco-focused removal service. Armed with only his mom’s SUV and a love for the environment, Cohen launched Junkluggers and has revolutionized the hauling and removal industry by focusing on environmentally friendly and community-oriented furniture and junk removal practices. The New York City-based company, which services the surrounding metropolitan area and states, is now offering franchise opportunities with the aim of spreading its in-demand services throughout the country.
