Kansas State Alliances Prepare for Symposium in November to Empower Communities to Better Serve the State's Military
Leavenworth, Kansas (PRWEB) October 18, 2016 -- On November 7th, a group of key organizations, including Army OneSource, will host a community symposium with experts from around the state. For those who work in the critical areas of behavioral health, finance, employment, legal and faith, it’s an incredible opportunity to gain an understanding of the unique needs of our Military population, explore reintegration challenges and learn about resources available to support those who serve or have served our nation. The symposium will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Immaculata High School in Leavenworth. The event is free and open to the public.
“As Service members return home, it is likely that they will first seek services and support from local resources. Consequently, the goal of the symposium is to bring community leaders together to educate, share ideas and provide tools to combat the challenges faced by our Service members, their Families and Veterans,” said Greg Marino, Army OneSource State Community Support Coordinator. Guest speakers will include Mike Denning, Director of the University of Kansas Office of Graduate Military Programs; Daniel Brazzell, Founder of Team Fidelis; Mike Hess, Leader of the Rezvets Military Ministry of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection; and Salle Stewart, Owner of The 700 Score Company.
