As a prequel to BlogHer ’13, the nation’s largest gathering of influential women in social media and blogs, HealthMinder Day is an event devoted to inspiration, connection, and education about leading edge health and wellness information for women to use in their daily lives and share with their families and communities. In the opening keynote session, Secretary Sebelius will participate in a one-on-one interview to share the status of key health policy initiatives. Additionally, Secretary Sebelius will address attendee questions about top-of-mind healthcare issues.
Named by Forbes as one of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women, and appointed by President Barack Obama while she was Governor of Kansas, Secretary Sebelius leads national policy efforts to improve America’s health and enhance the delivery of human services to some of the nation’s most vulnerable populations, including young children, those with disabilities, and the elderly. Secretary Sebelius is charged with implementing the Affordable Care Act, including carrying out policies that put focus on wellness and prevention, support the adoption of electronic medical records, and help recruit and train more primary care health providers.
