Kavita Kumar, MD, was born and raised in Bangalore, India. When she was 15, she moved to the United States. Dramatic events in her life led her to pursue a career in medicine. She had been practicing as a heart doctor for nine years when personal circumstances guided her into the practice of meditation. She lives with her mother and two children in San Diego.
