The fundraiser allowed her to have instant cash to take care of the couple’s 2-year-old son and their immediate needs.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) August 29, 2016
Keller Williams Houston Preferred recently participated in a fundraiser for the family of a fallen Pearland police officer, Endy Ekpanya, which included a breakfast event and car wash. Officer Ekpanya was killed when an intoxicated motorist hit his patrol car.
“We washed cars and helped raise over $40,000 for his family,” said Keller Williams Houston Preferred co-owner and Broker Donnie Jones. “Officer Ekpanya’s widow came to the car wash to thank us, and we washed her car as well.”
A local restaurant,Grazia Italian Kitchen, organized the fundraiser. Keller Williams Houston Preferred was approached by the restaurant to handle the car wash portion of the event.
“Grazia’s prepared and sold over 4,000 breakfast tacos, while about 25-30 Keller Williams Houston Preferred agents and leadership team members washed cars from 7 to 11 a.m.,” said Judy Berno, Realtor and co-owner of Keller Williams Houston Preferred. “While the community has been very involved in assisting the widow of Officer Ekpanya, and numerous police associations will continue to support her with long-term needs, the fundraiser allowed her to have instant cash to take care of the couple’s 2-year-old son and their immediate needs.”
