A Story of Crime and Punishment Which Spans the Centuries from Ancient Greece to Modern Times
London (PRWEB) December 10, 2013 -- Her fascination with ancient Greece and the immense influence those times have had on today’s world, not least being the revival of the Olympic Games, inspired author L. Christodoulou to write a book aimed at encouraging young people to appreciate the origins of their civilization. “FURY OF THE GODS” (published by AuthorHouse) is an exciting adventure tackling differences and similarities between life in ancient and modern times, including the very first Olympic race and the modern games.
This new book follows Theo and Leon Smith as they fly to Athens with their parents to attend the 2004 Olympic Games. But upon passing Mount Olympus, their aeroplane is hijacked and they are embroiled in an ancient Greek battle that has raged in the sky for thousands of years. This was a punishment inflicted on a group of ancient Greeks for a crime that infuriated the gods and for which they insisted on atonement. Theo, Leon and Mrs. Lander, Theo’s teacher, having helped rescue the ancient Greeks, find themselves in ancient Greece and in much danger, entangled in the wars, weddings, sports and rituals of the daily lives of ancient Greeks, but tragedy and redemption do not strike until they return to Athens, AD 2004, in time for the Olympic Games.
Follow Theo and Leon on a journey of mystery and suspense that takes them back to the original race at Olympia, returning to compare it to the modern games in Athens. The author connects these events to the concept of peace through dialogue and cooperation. Motivated by the principles and ethics of her Greek ancestry, Christodoulou has penned an exciting story that will inspire readers’ love of ancient Greece and entice them to learn more about it.

About the Author
L. Christodoulou was born in Cyprus and grew up in London, where she still lives with her husband Andreas. They have three children and six grandchildren and although all members of the family speak Greek as well as English, to her dismay, none of them share her life-long fascination with ancient Greece. This fascination and her passion for writing have been combined in “Fury of the Gods” to bring to life those incredible times, in an effort to encourage not only her own grandchildren but also other young people to appreciate the origins of their civilization.
