iLibrary System Helps Expand Library Reach and Hours - Will be on Display at 2014 Public Library Association Conference
Auburn Hills, MI (PRWEB) March 11, 2014 -- LEID Products, LLC, the leader of electronic locker and cabinet storage with biometric asset protection and control, today announced it will exhibit at the 2014 Public Library Association (PLA) Conference on March 13-14 in booth 1358. The show, taking place at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, brings together public librarians, public library workers, trustees, vendors and community members with a particular interest in public libraries. LEID Products is an exhibitor at the show and will be bringing its iLibrary System, which provides 24/7 remote access to library offerings for patrons that need more a convenient location, eliminating often restrictive hours of operation.
The conference seeks to offer a collaborative environment for all attendees. It will feature more than 150 educational sessions and provide opportunities to share success stories, best practices, new approaches to the public library business, and more.
“In today’s world, it’s difficult for a library to operate in the typical nine to five business hours,” explains Sam Hoff, president of LEID Products. “Patrons have become accustomed to a very fast-paced and on-demand world. Thus, they expect the same offering and capabilities from their libraries. We designed the iLibrary System keeping these patrons in mind. It allows libraries to extend hours and enable a self-service option that provides 24/7 accessibility.”
The system is made up of the tamperproof LEID’s Electronic Modular Access Units and the LEID iLibrary Kiosk. Patrons can browse materials online or directly through the iLibrary System Kiosk (orders are placed using library card numbers) and the library then just has to send an email or phone call with an access code when the patrons materials are available for pick-up. LEID’s electronic lockers include keypad and/or card reader access for patrons to quickly and easily access reserved materials. The system is a cost effective solution for expansion.
