Granville County Library to Introduce Two Express Library Sites Using LEID Products iLibrary System
Auburn Hills, MI (PRWEB) August 02, 2013 -- LEID Products, LLC., the leader in electronic locker and cabinet storage with biometric asset protection and control, today announced Granville County Public Library will introduce two Express Library locations to patrons through the introduction of the iLibrary System in Wilton and Oak Hill, NC. As part of the Library Bond passed in 2008, the Express Libraries will provide convenient access to Library materials for those who live in the more isolated areas of Granville County. Both Express Library sites are conveniently located next to the EMS stations in those communities.
"The Granville County Express Libraries are going to bring access to library materials to all corners of our county,” commented Deana Cunningham, the branch manager of South Branch Library. “No longer will residents of Wilton and Oak Hill have to drive into Creedmoor or Oxford to experience the wealth of materials the library system can provide." Prior to the new Express Library sites, resident of Wilton and Oakhill communities would need to drive approximately 20 minutes to visit the closest library branch. The new service will save patrons time and gas money.
The Express Libraries consist of LEID’s standalone iLibrary computer kiosk with connections to Granville County Library’s on-line card catalog. In addition, LEID’s Access.it electronically controlled lockers with keypad will store library holds. When library users request a book, it can be delivered to one of these sites and placed in a locker so that the user can access it with a code. A book drop will be available for patrons to return their items. Items can be placed on hold through the on-line card catalog or by calling 919-693-1121.
The new Granville County Express Libraries will be first of their kind in North Carolina. “We’re excited about the possibilities this system will provide our library users”, says Granville County Library Director, Tresia Dodson. “These are the first installations of this type in North Carolina, so we are hoping they will generate a lot of excitement.”
Ribbon cutting ceremonies for the Express Libraries will be held Sunday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wilton location, 2547 NC Hwy 96 South, and Sunday, August 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Hill location, 8061 NC Hwy 96 North. Refreshments will be provided.
