We are delighted that our iLibrary system has been so well received. Thank you to all of our customers who voted.

LEID Products, LLC, the leader of electronic locker and cabinet storage with biometric asset protection and control, is pleased to announce it has received Honorable Mention in LibraryWorks’ second annual Modern Library Awards (MLAs.)

The MLAs were created to recognize the top products in the library industry in a truly unbiased format. Products were submitted in the fall using a simple application, and then were posted on a private site with an enhanced description and attendant materials. These products were batched into small groups and sent to the LibraryWorks database of more than 80,000 librarians at public, K-12, academic, and special libraries. Only customers with experience with these products in their facilities were permitted to judge the products, resulting in a truly unbiased score.

Each judge scored the product on a numeric basis from 1-10 on a series of questions regarding functionality, value, customer service, etc.

“We are delighted that our iLibrary system has been so well received,” said Sam Hoff, CEO of LEID Products. “Modern libraries are always thinking creatively to engage patrons. Libraries often turn to us when they are looking to economically expand access. Thank you to all of our customers who voted.”

The iLibrary system combines electronic access units and a web-enabled, touchscreen kiosk to offer patrons 24/7 access to requested materials and to expand access beyond the main library branches. The system was first installed at a library in 2011. It has been installed at library branches and community locations such as grocery stores and office buildings throughout the country. The iLibrary system features:

  •     Keypad controlled access with an optional card reader
  •     Patron request system through kiosk or remotely via website
  •     Rugged steel construction with 16 color choices

Jenny Newman, publisher and MLA program manager said, “It’s hardly a surprise that LEID Products scored so well. They’ve been at the forefront of the industry since their company entered the market four years ago.”
