“Chris is more than an innovator; he’s a practical, strategic and long-term thinker who turns ideas into reality,” said Rodney Williams, CEO of LISNR.

LISNR, creator of the Smart Tones™ data-over-audio communications standard, today announced that co-founder, shareholder and lead advisor Chris Ostoich will be joining the company to lead all of its marketing efforts.
Ostoich co-founded LISNR in 2012 with former Procter & Gamble brand manager Rodney Williams, now CEO, with the original intention of giving brands a new way to engage with consumers through music. During this early period, he assisted Williams through the company’s initial product development, capital formation and launch at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
In 2008, Ostoich founded BlackbookHR, a provider of online software that helps companies engage with their employees in new ways, and served most recently as CIO, where he was responsible for the company’s product and marketing efforts.
Before departing BlackbookHR, Ostoich recruited a senior leadership team of seasoned HR industry veterans including Chris Powell, former head of HR at Scripps Networks. Under his direction, BlackbookHR was awarded numerous accolades for its disruptive approach to the employee engagement space, including Human Resource Executive Magazine's Top Product Award in 2013 and HR Technology Conference’s “Awesome New Startup” in 2014.
“To disrupt an industry requires more than a great idea, it requires building a foundation on which to create long-term success,” said Chris Ostoich. “At BlackbookHR we went from the potential of an idea to redefining and leading a once-stagnant HR software category, with a product now used by leading global brands. That’s the kind of challenge I like and what I look forward to at LISNR.”

“Chris is more than an innovator; he’s a practical, strategic and long-term thinker who turns ideas into reality,” said Rodney Williams, CEO of LISNR. “From our very first discussions to today, he’s been a critical advisor to the company and we expect his contributions to be immediate, impactful and lasting.”
