Jim was already swamped with other cases, and his normal go-to guy and partner, Gus, is out of town.
Lake Pontchartrain, a fictional romantic, mystery novel written by L.L. Latta tells the story of Charity, a certified lawyer,and has a Masters in Forensic Science and Criminal Psychology but prefers to do house cleaning instead of using the knowledge she worked so hard for. Her parents were very wealthy and had very good life insurance policies on the whole family. When her mom died, all but what her dad gave her brother Tommy and herself went into the bank. Then when Tommy died, her dad gave her half of the insurance money and again the rest went in the bank. But when her dad died, she inherited it all, and sold the family home. The money she had gotten from her mom and brother’s passing were all put in the bank.
After her father passed away, Charity moves from Shreveport, LA to a small town called Laplace. She begins a new life and career with a Private Investigator named Jim Jones. She is given a partner, Gus Timms-Copeland and they will both seek to solve the mystery of Lake Pontchartrain. What mind-blowing information will she find out regarding the death of his brother Tommy? What are the things she will discover about her mom from Gus’s closely-knit family? Will Charity finally find true love in Gus?
Lake Pontchartrain is an entertaining, passionate and highly emotional read fitted for mature readers. It presents to readers the story of a woman who tries to move forward and leave behind the sad memories of her family’s passing but find reconnections with them through her work and from another family who has shown a great amount of love for each other.

L.L. Latta was born in Las Vegas, NV and lived in Germany for four years of her childhood; her father was stationed there in the United States Air Force. She now lives in Phoenix, AZ with her husband and three of her six children. Her mother and brother are living live just a few miles away which makes it nice since she enjoys spending time with family and friends. L.L. Latta likes crafts of all types, but enjoys cooking, decorating cakes, knitting, and crocheting the most. She has thought of going to Culinary School. Lake Pontchartrain is her first published story and she hopes to continue to bring more of her tales to readers’ home and library.
