Just because there is less food going through the stomach, doesn't mean that the appetites for high-fat, high-calorie, or sweet items just go away.
4. Conditions that can heavily restrict life, or even shorten it, often go along with obesity. Happily, says the Republican American, weight loss achieved through lap band surgery can go a long way toward getting rid of conditions like diabetes, or even completely reverse it.
5. While it's true that weight loss achieved through lap band surgery is slower than either gastric bypass or gastric sleeve operations, the Republican American indicated new eating disciplines that really make the surgery work afterward. With only three small meals of less than 5 ounces each, additional vitamins, and lack of alcohol, real weight loss has a chance of happening over time.
6. The psychological advantage of weight loss surgery can do more than just a diet and exercise program. Struggles with weight loss can be a result of the overeating cycle of reward, but surgery makes sure there are consequences, as pointed out by the Republican American: vomiting, diarrhea or nausea.
