Life can be overwhelming; to live may be an arduous task. One may simply run away and hide; or open his or her eyes wider and see the good side amidst the complexities of life. Author, painter and poet Latha Prem Sakhya found her way – she rather perceives beauty and poetry in everything around her. As a product of her life’s reflection, she released her poem collection “Vernal Strokes” (published by Partridge India).
Her poetry is her interpretation of life as she sees it. Sakhya’s collection of 102 poems has different themes and subjects – life, death, nature, love, desire, woman, children, animals, birds and liberty.
”I want the readers to understand that this world is a space – where everyone can live freely, abundantly, and man, beast and nature can live as one whole family. Unconditional love is the panacea for the sufferings in this world,” Sakhya explains.
Written in simple, lucid language contemplating both the past and the present, ‘Vernal Strokes’ is a book for all ages. This great collection of poems makes one think, wonder and reflect. There is food for everyone – for the very young, the adult and the old.
