Marijuana is a fast evolving issue here in Colorado and as a task force committee member, I am here to offer a place where the community from all walks of life can voice their opinions on the topic.

Golden, CO (PRWEB) April 08, 2014

The Amendment 64 Task Force has been tasked with gathering local public opinion around the establishment and presence of retail marijuana stores in the City of Golden, CO. “Marijuana is a fast evolving issue here in Colorado and as a task force committee member, I am here to offer a place where the community from all walks of life can voice their opinions on the topic,” said David Jones, Attorney At Law.

To join in on the conversation, please fill out the survey on the Law Offices of D.R. Jones’s website, http://www.drjoneslaw.org/golden-city-amendment-64-task-force and tell the Amendment 64 Task Force how you feel about marijuana retail stores opening in Golden, Colorado. You may also email and write your thoughts directly to the task force at or A64(at)cityofgolden.net. Some of the survey questions include: do you think having retail marijuana stores in the city make marijuana more available to the our youth than it already is and will having retail marijuana stores make driving any more dangerous than it already is; do you think having these stores will increase tourism and revenues to the City of Golden and do you think having these stores in Golden will take away from Golden community values or Golden’s image?

As of November 6, 2012, the voters of the State of Colorado adopted Amendment 64 of the Colorado Constitution (“Amendment 64”), which is codified as Section 16 of Article XVIII of the Colorado Constitution. Amendment 64 permits persons twenty-one years of age and older to possess, use, display, purchase or transport one ounce or less of marijuana, or marijuana accessories, to grow limited amounts of marijuana and manufacture and sell marijuana accessories. Amendment 64 and its enacting legislation, the Colorado Retail Marijuana Code provides for the establishment of retail marijuana establishments, which include cultivating, testing and product manufacturing facilities, and retail marijuana stores.
